A Lakeshore Homewarming

At the start of summer we were given a one of a kind opportunity.

We had the tremendous pleasure to join a client in a special chapter of their life: celebrating the completion of their dream home build. But this family didn’t just host a party for their friends and family. They instead held on open-house style gathering, complete with delectable food by our favorite folks at The Farmhouse Deli, to thank the building team, architects, contractors, and interior designers who helped bring this project to life.

I’m not sure what’s more heartwarming. The honor to design within someone’s most personal space or the family’s thoughtfulness and gratitude to celebrate the very people who sometimes remain thankless. And more-so, what a complete treat this was working with curated rooms and thoughtful vignettes in a private home instead of the usual floor plans and tablescapes we handle with our wedding work. This type of work doesn’t come across my desk often but it aligns so closely with the type of design project I love most: a chance to blend together my love of flowers with my love for home.

To the homeowners who fulfilled their greatest life-long dream with this stunning new place to call their own, we are so thrilled for and inspired by you. Thank you for inviting us in to your space – and life – with such kindness and for being so gracious every step of the! We look forward to your next celebration and finding ways to bring in a fresh floral touch.

The family’s identity and the location of the home have been purposely kept private out of respect for the homeowners. All of the photographs throughout this post were captured by Samantha James Photography. With permission from the homeowners (and with great delight because without the people I am about to list this home would not have come to fruition!) I am able to share that the home was designed by James Thomas Interiors, architecturally led by Lorenz & Company, and built by Insignia Homes.
